![]() Question Toshiba SATELLITE C-50-B won't start (Power Button LED lights up for 5 seconds and turns off, no fan spinning) Start by doing a hard reboot, remove the yyybattery and unplug the AC adapter then press and hold the power button for 20 seconds then try booting it up again. Do also consider replacing the Power Button if you have determined before that it was working when you press on it really hard to power it on. But if there's still no display on the external monitor that means the problem lies in the motherboard. If there's a display on the external monitor that could mean that the problem is the built in display. If it will still not work, connect an external monitor and see if you'll get any display from it. Proceed with reseating the RAM's if trying a different AC adapter will not work, remove them all for couple of seconds then put them back in making sure everything is seated properly. do also try a different AC adapter that has the same voltage and see if it will work or not. Remove the battery and power the laptop with just the AC adapter connected and see if it will boot up or not. If this will not work, do test the AC adapter if it's working properly. On a Toshiba web page I found an extensive listing of Win 10 upgradeable notebooks and the R830 is NOT It'sĪ crapshoot to find a driver that may work but after 2 days of looking I gave up and went back to Win 7 the new Win XP that hopefully will last for Years. Problem is that Toshiba used many different manufactures for their web cams, DVD drives, as well as other components but simply will not admit to it. The Win 8.1 drivers is no good and the Win 7 doesn't work either. Drivers simple do notĮxist for the R830 model web cam. Device manager, Win 10 says driver not present. In my case web cam worked in Win 7 Ultimate. Everything that U suggested as a "fix" simply does not work. If it still doesn't work, you either have a hardware problem or the camera probably wasn't working before you updated. If Windows cannot find a driver for your camera, you should go to the manufacturer's web site and download it. If all goes well, Windows will automatically reinstall the driver for your camera and everything should be working. (There is also a "search" button on the tool bar that does the same thing.
